Crieff Comedy Festival 2019 Launched

Yesterday the Crieff Comedy Festival 2019, which is run by Crieff Succeeds, was launched.  The event will take place between Friday 26th and Sunday 28th of July at four venues across the town and features many of Scotland’s leading comedians.

The line-up includes a host of award-winning acts, from solo shows and Fringe previews, to comedy club nights and magic. Throughout the weekend, there will be more than thirty shows on offer including the one and only Fred MacAulay; multi-award-winning Scottish comedienne Janey Godley; TV and radio star, Des Clarke; The Glasgow Trip featuring Des McLean and Gary Little; the comedy, magic, burlesque show ‘Enterteasement’; as well as the comedian, actor and broadcaster Jojo Sutherland; and comedy veteran Phil Differ.

David McCann, Manager at Crieff Succeeds said: “This years’ comedy festival includes a broader variety and format of shows than last year, with something for everyone. As it takes place just before the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, it offers something truly unique and a chance to see some Fringe acts early. We look forward to seeing the town buzzing and welcoming guests from far and wide.” He continued “There will also be a series of dinner shows and free events throughout the weekend so there’s something for everyone.”

This year, the festival will take place across four venues – The Square Bar, Strathearn Artspace, The Tower and Crieff Golf Club.

Crieff Town Hall will also be a key venue for a two-day comedy workshop aimed at budding comedians. The workshop will be hosted by one of the UK’s foremost comedy tutors, Viv Gee, who has been lecturing in stand-up at the University of Strathclyde since 1998.
